Floyd Red Crow Westerman recently shared this Hopi message:
“We were told that we would see America come and go. In a sense, America is dying, from within, because they forgot the instructions of how to live on earth. It’s the Hopi belief, it’s our belief, that if you are not spiritually connected to the earth, and understand the spiritual reality of how to live on earth, it’s likely that you will not make it.
Everything is spiritual, everything has a spirit, everything was brought here by the creator, the one creator. Some people call him God, some people call him Buddha, some people call him Allah, some people call him other names. We call him Tunkaschila… Grandfather. We are here on earth only a few winters, then we go to the spirit world. The spirit world is more real than most of us believe. The spirit world is everything. Over 95% of our body is water. In order to stay healthy, you’ve got to drink good water. Water is sacred, the air is sacred. Our DNA is made out of the same DNA as the tree, the tree breaths what we exhale, we need what the tree exhales. So we have a common destiny with the tree. We are all from the earth, and when the earth, the water, the atmosphere is corrupted, then it will create its own reaction.
The mother is reacting. In the Hopi prophecy, they say the storms and floods will become greater. To me, it’s not a negative thing to know that there will be great changes. It’s not negative, it’s evolution. When you look at it as evolution, it’s time, nothing stays the same. You should learn how to plant something. That is the first connection. You should treat all things as spirit, realize that we are one family. It’s never something like the end. It’s like life, there is no end to life.”
Considering this wisdom and guidance, we strive for harmony with all life force energies from the one creator, masculine energy, to Mother Earth, feminine energy. As humanity journeys into unprecedented territories within the galaxy and universe, many humans wonder, who is Gaia and what does she mean to me?
The Greeks called her Gaia

When you hear about “Mother Earth,” you might think of modern environmentalism or New Age spirituality. But the idea of Earth as our mother is as old as civilization itself. The Greeks called her Gaia, a name that came from the word for the earth itself (ge). Among the oldest beings in the cosmos, she was the beginning of all life. Gaia was known as the mother of all creation in the mythology of Greece.
Gaia lives in all things – her body being our planet’s surface, encompassing everything from mountains to deserts to deep ocean trenches.
Gaia’s consciousness is pervasive within each molecule of the air we breathe, every blade of grass that grows upon the land, and every drop of water that falls from the sky. As such, Gaia wants all beings to be as connected as she is.
Gaia’s consciousness is within everything, and she has a message for humanity: we are all one. Gaia wants us to be aware that the actions of each living thing on our planet affect all other living things.
Gaia wants us to remember that she is within all of humanity, so if you hurt someone or something, then Gaia hurts too because we are one with her. When we honor our connection with the living conscious energy known as Gaia, life will continue on this planet’s surface for many more millennia into the future.
Gaia will embrace all, and she wants you to be the same way. She wants humans to live in harmony with each other and with nature so that we may experience all life at its fullest, together.
Gaia wants humans to know that they are not the only conscious beings in the universe
There are infinite numbers, and she is one of them. Beings that are not human exist on other planets, and they want to live in peace with all of us. Gaia wants you to know this because it is relevant to humanity’s evolution.
Humanity is in the midst of a consciousness shift as it evolves. Gaia wants humans to know that the knowledge of the universe is within us because we are all connected as a species. We will find this wisdom, for there is no such thing as time or distance. These concepts do not exist outside of our belief systems. In nature and for Gaia, there is only now and the infinite possibilities that exist within it.
Gaia’s wisdom and knowledge are limitless. Gaia wants us to connect to the wisdom she has to offer because that information is necessary to continue our journey of consciousness evolution. Gaia knows there are other planets out there with life upon them. Some may be like earth in form; others may not be anything like what we know. She wants us to embrace all life forms, for they are all connected with life force energy to the universe, just like Gaia is.
Gaia’s message for humanity is simple. There is only one constant consciousness of love. Love will always exist because it is at the core of everything.
Many humans wonder, “What does Gaia want for me?” The answer to this question is already within us. When humanity remembers the connection with nature’s living consciousness, we will come together in peace and harmony as one species with no limit to how far humanity can evolve. All that knowledge awaits discovery by humankind. It’s up to us as individuals, and subsequently, the Collective, to let go of our limiting belief systems. Gaia waits for each of us to open up our souls and allow the remembrance of our connection to the One life force energy. Infinite love and wisdom are ours to discover.
If you are a Star Wars fan, one could casually conclude all of the above in one metaphorical statement:
“May the Force be with you!”
